About

Experience, curiosity, and a shared search for a better way.

Why Improve My World exists

Two working lives, one recurring observation.

Vernon and Katey founded Improve My World in 2018, after two long careers spent in rooms where the same thing kept happening. Capable people, under pressure, reacting rather than choosing — and paying for it in their work, their health and their relationships.

The observation was not new. What was missing was something between the self-help paperback and the therapy room: a body of thought serious enough to be worth your time, practical enough to be used on a Tuesday.

The problem was never a shortage of wisdom. It was that nobody had made it easy to find, or small enough to start.

The shared philosophy

Where the material comes from.

Between them, Vernon and Katey work with cognitive psychology, NLP, hypnotherapy and EQ assessment, alongside Eastern and Western philosophical and metaphysical traditions. Their teaching draws on deeply researched study of philosophy, psychology and spirituality, and on the wisdom of sages across a very long span of time.

They are careful about the difference between what a tradition proposes and what science has demonstrated, and this site tries to be careful about it too. Where The Way explores an idea, it says so. It does not claim proof it does not have.

Two different angles

They do not agree about everything, and that is the point.

Vernon arrives at these questions from the boardroom: from decisions made badly under pressure, and from watching what happens to organisations when the people at the top are not paying attention to themselves.

Katey arrives from performance and from the private lives behind it: from what people are actually carrying when they walk into a room and perform anyway.

The overlap between those two views is where The Way sits — which is why the same eight learnings work in a living room and in a leadership team, and why this site lets you read every one of them through either lens.
